This policy specifies IMPORTANT<\/strong> aspects how data that you upload and download via our \u2018save or content sharing\u2019 features is treated. It is in addition to our general privacy policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is this for?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Our games may allow you to create a \u2018save-code’ of your game state. This is done by uploading your save file to the internet and receiving a short text code for it (Example code: GDT-e9adeac3<\/em>).<\/p>\n

You or somebody else can then enter this ‘save code’ in the game to download the corresponding game state. This can be useful if you want to continue an existing game on a different device or if you want to share your save file with your friends or the world.<\/p>\n

We provide this feature free of charge and for the convenience and to the benefit of our players but offer absolutely NO WARRANTY<\/strong> of any kind. Usage of the service is voluntary and AT YOUR OWN RISK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Privacy Implications<\/span><\/h3>\n

In order to provide the service, we need to upload and store your content on the internet. By using the service and uploading a save file you give us the right to store the file on our servers and make the file available to anyone who enters the save code.<\/p>\n

Our save files do not contain personally identifiable information such as IP addresses or device identifiers but they do contain player generated content which might be personally identifiable, depending on how players use our games. Only upload content you are willing to share and host online.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nFor example: In Game Dev Tycoon, you play as a virtual character running a virtual business and giving your virtual games names. Any player name, company name or game name you enter while playing the game will be contained in the save file.<\/strong> If you used your real name as the name of your player avatar, it will be included in the save file.\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Agreements<\/span><\/h3>\n

– By uploading a save file you give us permission to store the corresponding save file and all its data on our servers and to give others who enter the save-code access to this data in order to provide the service.
\n– You acknowledge that the service doesn\u2019t have any concept of content ownership. For the sake of simplicity and ease-of-use, there are no user-profiles, logins, or passwords. Once a file is uploaded, anyone who enters the save-code can access the corresponding file freely.
\n– You acknowledge that you will not be able to retrieve uploaded content if you don\u2019t remember the corresponding save-code.
\n– You acknowledge that this service is purely provided as a convenience and comes without any warranties or guarantees. Uploaded files might be unavailable, corrupt, deleted or contain unwanted content. Usage of the service is at your own risk.<\/p>\n
